The Blue Charm salmon fly has been connecting Atlantic Salmon with humans about as well as any fly can.  I was introduced to this fly in the Gray River of Southern Newfoundland.  They usually fish it with a "riffle hitch" and skate it across the current. It drives salmon mad with a very exciting take. I can vouch for the fact that this fly with the hitch works well in other Atlantic Salmon rivers as well.
